This practice did not begin with a business plan. It began in 1971, when Garry Creath — after many years of dedicating his life to his country — was medically discharged from the U.S. Air Force and had to decide what came next.
He chose real estate in Colorado Springs, and the profile that tells the story gives one reason for it — a reason that still explains most of how this team works.

He grew the business further in Lubbock, Texas. Eighteen years went into building the family’s reputation before he brought it to Austin in 1989. In 1992 his wife, Jo Creath, became his partner in it. She brought her love for people, devotion to family and friends and caring attitude to the real estate world.
They had roughly six years as business partners. Garry passed away in 1997, which opened the doors for his children to share in his love for real estate. Garry Creath II joined his mother to continue his father’s legacy. Jonathan — who had been selling software to Fortune 500 companies and developing a passion for helping clients — moved to Austin to join the family business. The brothers have run it together since.
In 2008 Creath Partners joined Capital City Sotheby’s International Realty, now Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty, where Jonathan continues his role as a Real Estate Advisor to his clients. His first listing was on the corner of Enfield Road and Pecos Street, a short walk from Lion’s Municipal Golf Course. The original buyers still live there.
The work since has stayed close to that map — Tarrytown for over 25 years, plus Westlake, Lakeway, southwest Austin, the Lake Travis areas and downtown. Some of it is quietly historic. 818 Mariner in Lakeway — 3,349 square feet built in 1967 on a rocky promontory 140 feet above Lake Travis, with an 85-foot deck across the back — was the home of Alan Shepard, one of the Mercury 7, the first American in space and the commander of Apollo 14. It sold for $1,599,000.
