West Lake Hills begins street maintenance on 31 roads

City Council approved the 2026 Street Maintenance Project, with work starting July 6, 2026 on 31 streets including Ledgeway Street, Yaupon Valley Road and Sundown Parkway. Crews are using crack sealing plus mill and overlay operations to preserve and extend the life of the roadway network. Residents should expect temporary traffic control, short-term construction activity and minor delays.

West Lake Hills & Rollingwood send conditional support on MoPac South

On April 22, 2026 the West Lake Hills council voted to join Rollingwood in sending a conditional support letter for the MoPac South environmental assessment to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. The three conditions are full outside funding for a $10 million diverging diamond intersection at MoPac and Bee Cave Road, projected to cut peak-hour delays 48%-58%; noise barriers on the Rollingwood side; and the previously designated lane elevation. The final assessment goes to TxDOT next.

The first day of school is August 13, 2026, with a board meeting August 18, a student and staff holiday September 7, and a K-12 early release September 16.
